2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was very cooperative and spoke freely. Information fairly reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
10 Aug 50: PW conscripted at WONSAN and received approx 10 days of training.
O/a 20 Aug: PW hospitalized for malaria. Since he was not fit for field duty, he worked in the supply room until captured.

Unit Organization and Strength:
There are 3 platoons in a Co and each platoon consists of 40 men. There were 3 Bns and each Bn was composed of 3 rifle Cos and 1 heavy machine gun Co. Comm Co, Reconn Co, and supply unit were directly under the Regt.

Unit History:
8 Sep 50 when UN forces attacked HONSAN PW believes that Div and Regt retreated north. His Co retreated to HAEMYON approx 40 km S of WONSON. PW believes approx 80% were left when they arrived in MAEMYON.
26 Sep 50 PW's unit retreated north, however he was left behind.
30 Nov 50 PW and a friend arrived PYONGKONG where he found his unit. When his unit retreated from SONSAN all heavy weapons were left behind. PW' said they guarded PYONGKANG because they could not fight without heavy weapons. PW said they further retreated to YONCHON, and when his unit left YONCHON 3 Dec 50 PW was again left behind. 14 Dec 50 PW was captured.

4 X 45mm Arty, 4 X 85mm mortar, 4 x 105mm Arty, 12 HMGs (2,240 rds ea), 36 LMGs (288 rds ea), 36 SMGs (744 rds ea), 4 trucks, 1 motorcycle.

Morale:
Morale of this unit was very low because of continuous withdrawal and lack of weapons.
Food was obtained from village. No resupply of ammo since leaving WONSAN.
