PW was of average intelligence. Fairly reliable. Cooperative. Education - 10 yrs.
3. MILITARY HISTORY:30 Jul 50-Inducted at TAERYONG (会寧) and was attached to the 507th Unit, 6th Bn, left NAJIN and arrived at SINPO (薪浦) by train. Received military training for 3 months.
O/a 15 Aug 50-6th Bn left NAJIN and arrived at SINPO (新浦) by train. Received military training for 3 months.
17 Oct 50 – The 6th Bn retreated to northwest probably to HYESAN.
4 Dec 50 – The 6th Bn with some other unit advanced to PUKCHON(北靑) by marching.
9 Dec 50 – The 6th Bn engaged and 1st and 2nd Co of the 6th Bn retreated and 3rd Co was destroyed or captured. PW was captured.
4. ORGANIZATION:The 507th Unit was composed of 6 Bns. Each battalion composed of 3 Companies.
5. STRENGTH:Strength of the 507th Unit was estimated approximately 2,000.
6. WEAPONS:36 PPSH SMGs, 6 LMGs, in each Company. Each man had a rifle(Russian make) and 200 rounds of ammo and 2 hand grenades. No heavy weapons, 4x2½ ton trucks.
7. PERSONALITIES:PAK, Song Gyu (白成規) (백성규), Sr Capt, about 30, 6 Bn CO.
8. MORALE:Morale of the 6th Bn was extremely high. Troops were informed that CCF troops were fighting at HAMHUNG and UN Forces are helplessly trapped.
