2. ASSESSMENT:

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
7 Dec 49 - Conscripted into CCF. Sent to ANHSING (安興) for training (4 mos).
o/a 24 Apr 50 - Sent to SHANGHAI and assigned to present parent unit. Remained there about 6 mos.
15 Nov 50 - PW was sent to MANCHURIA, with entire 26th Army.
o/a 22 Nov 50 - Crossed Yalu River at night, marching 7 nights, averaging 20 miles per night. PW claims to have not engaged in fighting being a messenger, and not armed.
o/a 10 Dec 50 - PW was captured by US Marines at an unknown place.

4. ORGANIZATION:
26th Army - unk. 76th Div - strength unk, but consisted of the 26th, 27th and 28th Regts. The 28th Regt (3,000 men) consisted of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns. The 2nd Bn (1,000 men) consisted of 1st, 2nd, 3rd Cos and a Hvy Wpn Co. The 1st Co (179 men) consisted of Rifle Plats and a Hvy Wpn Plat. The 1st Plat (40 or more men) had 3 Sqds.

5. WEAPONS:
The men were equipped with Chinese rifles, Plat leaders with American carbines. Ammunition - 100 rds per man. Hand grenades - 4 (Chinese make) per man. Mortars - 3 x 60mm American per Co. Hvy Arty - None.

6. MORALE:
Fair. Shortage of food, mostly dried rice.

7. CASUALTIES:
PW estimates 60 casualties in his Co, this includes casualties from air attack, Arty, small anns fire, frostbite, and men taken as prisoners.
