2. ASSESSMENT:
Un-cooperative. PW was suffering a little from a fractured arm.
Information is very limited because PW was unable to grasp details about his unit, since he is both uneducated and unintelligent.
Reliability of the information is very doubtful; the accuracy of dates and designation of units is especially unreliable.
Do not recommend further interrogation as PW is obviously ignorant of military matters.

42nd Army composed of the 123rd, 124th and 125th Divisions.
125th Div composed of the 372nd, 373rd and 374th Regiments.
374th Regt composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalions.
3rd Battalion is composed of the 7th, 8th, and 9th Rifle Companies,
8th Company composed of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Platoons.
1st Plat composed of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Squads.

There were no Koreans, Japanese, or Russians in the 42nd Army, according to PW.
PW stated that the 374th Regt is intact and under the same chain of command as it was prior to crossing the YALU River into KOREA.
As far as PW knows, no CCF troops have been integrated into NKA units.

4. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted into the Chinese Nationalist Army during April 40 in YUNNAM-SHENG.
Joined the CCF on 11 June 46 when the entire 184th Div, 60th CNA, defected to the 42nd CCF Army at HAICHENG (海城), MANCHURIA.
Departed from HAICHENG on 12 June 46, by train (with the entire 184th Div personnel), and arrived at TATUNG-KOU (大東湝), MANCHURIA on 15 June 46.
Joined the 42nd Army on 1 Jul 46 at TATUNG KOU when the former 184th CNA Division was redesignated the 124th Div, 42nd Army (CCF).
Departed from TATUNG KOU during Aug 46, by train with the entire 42nd Army, and arrived at LIN-CHIANG (CB 2529) MANCHURIA on 11 Sep 46.
Departed from LIN-CHIANG on 16 Jan 47, marched with the 3rd Branch Unit, 124th Div, and arrived at PUPING (普平) during April 47.
Departed from PUPING during June 48, marched with the entire 124th Div, and arrived at HONAN-SHENG during Jul 48.
There, the 124th Div was disorganized as a result of strong CNA attacks during Jul 48 and did not successfully regroup until Jan 49 in HONAN-SHENG.
Departed from HONAN-SHENG during Jan 49, marched with the entire 42nd Army, and arrived in PEIAN-SHENG, MANCHURIA, during March 49.
Departed from PEIAN-SHENG during April 49, by train with the entire 42nd Army, and arrived in CHILIN-SHENG during April 49.
Departed from CHILIN-SHENG during 14ay 49, by train with the entire 42nd Army, and arrived at HSI-AN (西安) during May 49.
Departed from HSI-AN during May 49, by train with the entire 42nd Army, and arrived at T'UNG HUA during June 49.
At T'UNG-HUA the 124th Div was redesignated the 125th Div (date unknown). PW does not know what unit was redesignated as the 124th Div. (Interrogator's Note: Possibly PW was merely transferred to the 125th Div and was not aware of the fact.)
Departed from T'UNG-HUA o/a 1 Nov 50, marched with the 374th Regt of the 125th Div, and traveled via CHI-AN (MANCHURIA) to MANPOJIN, (KOREA) over a wooden bridge across the YALU River at night (date unknown).
Continued marching until o/a 10 Nov 50 (direction and route unknown).
On 13 Nov 50, PW was wounded by small arms fire at TOKCHON, then captured there by ROK troops approx an hour later at 130800 I Nov 50.

6. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
When the 374th Regt of the 125th Div departed from T’UNGHUA, MANCHURIA o/a 1 Nov 50, personnel brought 6 days ration. When this was exhausted personnel were fed twice daily by the Regt. PW does not know where this second supply of food came from.

7. MORALE:
Personnel in the 374th Regt of the 124th Div had low morale because combat against the UN Forces was so much more dangerous than against the CNA.

8. GENERAL INFORMATION:
PW was not a volunteer for Korean service; his unit was not a volunteer unit; and no instructions were given to him as to what to say in the event of capture.
The 42nd Army has not received amphibious training.
PW never heard of the Iron & Steel Brigade.
PW knows of no Japanese units in the CCF.
Pay for a 42nd Army rifleman is 30,000 "YUAN" per month, a platoon leader receives 40,000 "YUAN" per month, and a Campany CO receives 70,000 "YUAN" per month.
PW knows of no paratroops in the CCF.
CNA soldiers and equipment were integrated into the CCF units capturing them.
PW does not know why the CCF has sent troops to KOREA.
