2. ASSESSMENT:
Cooperative. PW appeared to be in good physical condition. Information seems to be reliable but is not detailed because PW could not remember specific data regarding activities of his unit.

3. T/O & E AND STRENGTH OF UNITS: (as of 10 Nov 50)
38th Army composed of the 112th, 113th & 114th Divisions.
114th Div composed of the 337th, 338th & 339th Regiments.
338th Regt composed of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Bns and an 81mm Mortar Co.
1st Bn composed of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Rifle Companies.
3rd Rifle Co composed of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Rifle. Platoons.
3rd Rifle Plat composed of the 7th, 8th & 9th 5qds. Each sqd is composed of 10 to 12 men.

One Korean, serving as an interpreter, was attached to each company of the 114th Div. These Koreans joined the 114th Div shortly before (date unlmown) the Div left MANCHURIA to come to KOREA. These Koreans were residents of MANCHURIA.
PW believes that the 38th Army is intact and under the same chain of command that it was prior to crossing the YALU River into KOREA.
No parts of the 114th Div have been integrated into the NKA.

4. LOCATIONS & ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:
PW knows of no CCF unite other than the 38th Army being in KOREA. No other info.

5. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted into the Chinese Nationalist Army during 1941 in HUNAN-SHENG.
Captured by the CCF (38th Army) during April 49 in HOPEI-SHENG.
Inducted into the CCF (38th Army) during April 49 in HOPEI-SHENG.
Departed from HOPEI-SHENG during June 49, by train with the entire 38th Army, and arrived at HUPEI-SHENG during June 49, and traveled via the following places:

Departed from SHENYANG during Jul 50, by train with the 114th Div and arrived at KAIYUAN (FENGTIEN Province, MANCHURIA) during Jul 50.
Departed from KAIYUAN on 13 Oct 50, by train with the 114th Div, and arrived at T’UANGHUA on 14 Oct 50.
Departed from T'UANGHUA on 14 Oct 50, by train, and arrived at the YALU River on 15 Oct 50.
Marched across the YALU River (place unlmown) over a railroad bridge into KOREA on 16 Oct 50.
Continued marching (at night only) southward into KOREA until 26 Oct 50.
On 6 Nov 50, the 1st Bn of the 338th Regt, 114th Div attacked ROK troops. Fearing death from combat, PW deserted and was given shelter by a Korean farmer until 10 Nov 50 when ROK troops entered the farmer’s home and captured PW.

5. PERSONALITIES:

Orgn: 3rd Plat, 3rd Bn, 338th Regt, 114th Div.
There were no Soviet advisors in the 114th Div.

7. REPLACEMENTS:
As of 10 Nov 50, the 338th Regt of the 114th Div had received no replacements.

8. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
Food sufficient for 4 days was brought by the 114th Div from MANCHURIA (place unknown) on 16 Oct 50. When this was exhausted personnel subsisted by confiscating food from farmers.
No other information.

9. MORALE:
114th Div personnel had low morale because weapons were inferior, food was scarce and clothing was insufficient for winter.

10. GENERAL INFO:
PW was not a volunteer for Korean service; the 114th Div was not a volunteer unit, and PW received no instructions to appear to be a volunteer if captured.
The 38th Army did not participate in the invasion of HAINAN Island and has not received amphibious training.
PW never heard of the Iron and Steel Brigade.
PW's monthly pay was 8,000 "Yuan".
PW know of no CCF units with Soviet equipment.
CNA soldiers and equipment are integrated into CCF units capturing them.
PW was told by his officers that the CCF was coming to KOREA to liberate the Korean people.
