Departed PUKCHIN night of 11 Nov 50 and arrived SOKSARI (YE2461) the following morning. Observed approx 2,000 ROK’s, US, and civilian PsW in the area. Separated in 3 groups. Subject counted 204 US PsW and estimated 1,000 civilians. Remainder ROK troops.
PsW were told by CCF officer (in charge of prisoners) that no hard will come to prisoners, and not to worry about being massacred. Korean PsW were then marched to TAEYU DONG (YE1964). US PsW left in SOKSA RI.
Subject escaped from CCF 142400 Nov 50 at TAEYU DONG and headed SE toward ONJONG (YZ4743) via UNSAN (YE3928). Was picked up 170900 Nov 50 vic PALWON MYON (YE3010) area.

15 Nov 50 subject observed small groups (no. unk) of CCF approx 2 1/2 miles NW of ONGJONG (YE4743) on main road at approx point (YE4345). Believed many more dug in in mountains in same area. Troops were equipped with rifles. Did not observe arty position or heavy arms.
On 16 Nov 50 observed a CCF soldier 2 1/2 miles N of UNSAN (YE3928) on main road heading toward hill 225 (YE4228) carrying food. Subject heard bugle on hill 225 when UN planes flew by, therefore believes that large number of CCF are located on this hill.
