ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 2512　4 December 1950

FIELD REPORT (ADVATIS FWD #2 - 0006)　24 November 1950

PW seems to be very evasive, When questioned gave evasive answers, PW’s knowledge of the Japanese language was limited, Information obtained unreliable.

25 Jul 50 - Went to SEOUL and enlisted in the NKA, Commissioned a Jr Lt and assigned to the 104th Regt Hqs, which was activated 23 Jul 50.

5 Aug 50 - Organization walked to KOCHANG (居昌) and stayed there one day. Then it took them 7 days to reach KOSONG (固城).

23 Sep 50 - PW states that this organization evacuated KOSONG and that the men in this organization scattered. Most of the EM were S Koreans, PW and 15 EM escaped to CHINJU (晋州), to SANCHUN (山淸), to HAMYONG (咸陽) and then took to the mountain ranges (SOBAK and TAEBAEK). PW never went into any villages. For food he would beg at some farmers homes but went without food often. Before crossing the 38° parallel, 14 of the S Korean EM went back to their homes, PW and an NCO, AN, Tsung Pak (安準白), crossed the 38° parallel the latter part of Oct. The NCO and the PW separated, with the NCO going home to WONSAN (元山). PW was captured 16 Nov 50 by the Korean Security Guard at YANGDOK (陽德), while enroute home, PW traveled only by night and slept during the day.

Under the Regt were 4 bns which were composed of 800 personnel per bn. There were 4 companies composed of 200 men each, Each company consisted of 3 or 4 plats.

The following weapons wore picked up while the Regt was moving to KOSONG from SEOUL:

rifles -- 50　　small arms -- 12　　LMG -- 3

PW does not know the amount of weapons in the Bns. Regt had two Japanese made telephones, one Russian jeep and two trucks.
