In addition to the 79th Army, the 41st and 47th CNA Armies were at CHENGTU. The 3 aforementioned armies surrendered to the CCF sometime in Dec 49. Surrender was due to the fact that these 3 armies were pitifully below strength. According to the PW the 79th Army numbered only a little above 4,000 men, and the CCF Forces were predominately superior in manpower.
o/a 1 Feb 50 - The 41st, 47th and 79th Armies were sent en masse to CHIANG-MIEN-SHI (章民縣), 100 miles west of CHENGTU, and absorbed into the CCF. According to the PW, they were allowed to retain their arms, after the mass surrender at CHENGTU and retained their old unit designations.

The 20th Army was in YEN CHO FU approximately five days.
o/a 14 Nov 50 - PW departed YEN CHO FU, enroute to MANCHURIA, but cannot say that the entire 20th Army departed that date, beyond the fact that he was told by his company commander that the entire 20th Army was moving to Manchuria.
o/a 21 Nov 50 - PW arrived at night at an unknown point in the vicinity of the Yalu River, and after a hurried meal, the 267th Regiment moved out. PW does not know what or if any other units moved that same night. Regiment hid during the day and moved at night. PW is unable to estimate the distance covered by the Regiment, nor did ha engage in combat. Surrendered on 25 Nov 50. PW states his reason for surrender was the scarcity of food in his organization, the main staple diet consisting of small Irish potatoes.

4. ORGANIZATION:
PW does not know the organization of the 20th Army and 89th Division. The 267th Regiment consisted of 3 Battalions, 1st, 2d, and 3d. PW does not know strength. 3d Battalion comprised of 3 Companies, 7th, , and 9th. Strength unknown. 8th Company comprised of 3 platoon, 1st, 2d, and 3d. Company strength 90 men (present strength). 3d Platoon comprised of 3 squads, 7th, 8th, 9th. Platoon strength 30 men (present str). 9th Squad strength was 10 men.

There were six sub machine guns per company. 2 HMG per Battalion. No heavy artillery or tanks.

6. GENERAL:
Did not see any UN prisoners nor were there any with his outfit.
The 20th CCF Army is composed in the majority of former CNA troops. Ex-CNA personnel are considered good soldiers by this PW.
