2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative, information limited due to short service. Information considered reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
20 Aug 50: Conscripted at P'YONGYANG and assigned to the 105th Tank Training Regt. Received training for approx one month.
30 Sep 50: A Tank Bn was activated from the 105th Training Regt. This Tank Bn left P'YONGYANG without tanks.
2 Oct 50: The newly activated Tank Bn arrived at PAKCH'ON and was called the Pakchon Ind Tank Bn. The unit expected tanks from KWAKSAN (XD 8005) but due to constant air attack no tanks arrived.
20 Oct 50: The Bn left PAKCH'ON to receive 11 (T-34) tanks. PW was promoted to Jr Lt.
25 Oct 50: Arrived at KWAKSAN and received 11 tanks but due to UN air attack 7 of the 11 tanks were destroyed.
20 Oct 50: 4 tanks left KWAKSAN for KANJU MYON. PW and four others remained at KWAKSAN to repair a tank and while in the process of doing this they were captured by UN Forces.

PAKCHON Ind Tank Bn (60 men) - Composed of 3 × Cos (20 men each).

4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
The T-34 medium tank is equipped with 1 × 85 mm gun and 2 × 7.62mm machine guns. The gun turret revoles 360° and it is made so that the gun can be elevated 25° and depressed to -5°. The tank is 3 m wide and 2.70 m high. The front plate of the tank is 90 cm thick. The maximum speed is 55 km per hour. It is capable of clibing 30°, descend 45° and run parallel on a 25° slope. Capable of pushing over a 40 cm tree, and 25 cm diamater tree in a wooded area. Capable of going over a 73 cm high wall. Able to cross a river that is 1.30 meters deep. The maximum range of the 85mm gun is 1,500 meters, effective range 1,100 meters. The maximum range of the machine gun is 3,000 meters, effective range 400 meters. Tank usually carried 55 rds of 85mm ammo and 1,953 rds of machine gun ammo. It is equipped with a two way radio maximum range 12 km.
