3. MILITARY HISTORY:
28 Sep 50 - Pre-induction physical exam at KOWON (高原).
4 Oct 50 - Inducted at HAMHUNG (咸興). Assigned to the 119th Security Regt 2nd Bn, 3d Co. PW received about 6 days of military training during his military service (4 Oct 50 to 11 Nov 50).
6 Oct 50 - The entire 119th Security Regt departed HAMHUNG without engaging in battle.
o/a 9 Oct 50 - Arrived at SINHUNG (新興) and remained here 2 days receiving military training.
o/a 12 Oct 50 - The entire Regt departed SINHUNG on foot.
o/a 15 Oct 50 - Arrived at HONG-GUN (洪君).
17 Oct 50 - Departcd HONG-GUN.
21 Oct 50 - Arrived at KAPSAN (甲山).
22 Oct 50 - The 2nd Bn departed KAPSAN, the 119 Regt'l Hq's and the 1st and 3d Bns remaining there.
o/a 24 Oct 50 - The 2nd Bn reached the outskirts of PUNGSAN (豐山). At this point PW became ill (food poisoning) and was ordered by his Plat Ldr to remain at a farm house.
11 Nov 50 - After resting at the farm house approximately 20 days PW departed for PUNGSAN to surrender.
13 Nov 50 - Captured at PUNGSAN (豐山) by the 17th RCT.

4. ORGANIZATION:
The 119th Regiment was composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3d Bns. Each Battalion had 3 Cos, or possibly more and each Company, 3 Plats. The 119th Regimental strength while at HAMHUNG was estimated to be approximately 1,500 men.
The 2nd Bn had 600 men, mainly recruits. The 2nd Bn was equipped with six LMG's only and 2/3 of the troops were armed with rifles.
The 119th Regimental Headquarters and the 1st and 3d Bns were last seen in KAPSAN 22 Oct 50 and the 2nd Bn was last seen 24 Oct 50 marching into PUNGSAN. During PW's stay with the 119th Regiment, it was not committed.
