PW was cooperative but his information limited. Information is considered reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
26 Sep 48: Volunteered and was sent to Officers Training School at YONGSONG (龍城).
15 Dec 49: Finished school and was commissioned a Sr Lt and assigned to the 3rd Brigade. as a Bn cultural ldr. 3rd Brigade was at CHUKCHON (竹川).
25 Jun 50: 3rd Brigade engaged in battle at ONGJIN (甕津).
28 Jun 50 1 Brigade moved to KAESONG (開城).
30 Jun 50: Brigade was reorganized and became the 9th Div. PW was promoted to Capt.
7 Jul 50: 9th Div left KAESONG and arrived at SEOUL.
3 Aug 50: The 1st & 2nd Regt left SEOUL while the 3rd Regt stayed at INCHON (仁川).
11 Aug 50: The 2nd Regts were committed in the vicinity of YONGSAN (용산).
20 Sep 50: Unit retreated to TAEJON (大田) where it was dispersed by UN Forces. Survivors retreated over of mountain trails.
11 Nov 50: While passing TUCHON NI (두천니) PW was stopped by some men of the 9th Div and taken to the Div Hq, where he was assigned to 1st Regt, 1st Bn at PYONGGANG Gun NAM MYON
13 Nov 50: 1st Regt (500 mon) attacked PYONGGANG with the intention of occupying it and setting up a road block. Before arriving at PYONGGANG, the 1st Regt met UN Forces and about half of the 500 men were wounded while 22 man were captured,

Original Organization & Strength:
9th Div - 9,000 men - 3 Rifle Regts (2,200 men), 1 Arty Regt (1,200 men). Each Rifle Regt was composed of 3 Rifle Bns (665 men), Ench Bn composed of 3 Rifle Cos (155 men), 1 HMG Co (120 men), 1 x 82 mm mortar Co (80 men).

Actual Battle Organization & Strength:
1st, 2nd and Arty Regt was committed while the 3rd Regt was at INCHON.

Last Known Composition of Unit:
9th Div (1,900 men) was regrouped in the vicinity of KUMHWA with men of various units who were retreating north. Believes the lat Regt was at PYONGGANG GUN NAM MYON, 2nd Regt at KUMHWA, 3rd Regt at HAKCHON NI (학천이) and Div Hq at TUGHON NI.

Equipment (as of 13 Nov 50);
Each Regt is armed with 50 SMGs (100 rds per man), 6 LMGs (70 rds per man), 50 Rifles (20 rds per man).

Intentions:
The 9th Div is located at KUMHWA and vicinity where they intend to set up a road block to cut off supplies to the north.

Knowledge of Other Units:
Remnants of 6th Div are believed to be in the WONSAN Area, PW stated that the 2nd Corps made up of remnants of the 6th, 7th and 9th Div, is responsible for setting up road blocks in the central area between the 38° and 39° parallel. Maj Gen CHOE, In, is in charge of 2nd Corps and is in the vicinity of SEPO-RI (洗浦里). The 1st Corps (organization unknown) is responsible f or the East coast area and 3rd Corps (organization unknown) is responsible for the E west coast area,

4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
PW states that runners are used to communicate between corps and Divs, Liaison officers are used as runners.
All the troops were still in summer uniform and food was very scarce so morale was low. No arms or ammunition were being received as far as PW knows. PW believes that if more propaganda is used these troops will surrender.
