2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was very slow in answering question and at times seemed mentally ill and unbalanced. Turned over to 1st Lt Falkenstrom, War Crime investigation section, at the INCHON POW Camp.
PW was married to LEE, Hu Yong (이후용), age 33, vice chairman of the KUMCHON Gun consumers cooperative in 1948. Has one daughter - 2 years old.
On or about 10 Oct 50 in the vicinity of YUL TONG (율동) PW shot and killed 4 ROK PW's, 5 American wounded POW's and 1 American Officer POW. This action took place in an apple orchard in front of PW’s home at 0800.
PW claimed that her husband ordered her to kill the UN POW’s. She had them lined up and then shot them with a pistol.
While the shooting was taking place, PW's husband, LEE, Hu Yong stood in the doorway of his house watching.
After the shooting. POW covered the bodies with white clothing and left them where they lay. The husband joined the retreating Reds and escaped.
The next morning, weeping women of the neighborhood buried the bodies.
