1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW seemed cooperative but little information could be obtained. Of average intelligence and in good physical condition.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
Chronology:
1941: Inducted into CNA at HUNAN-SHENG (湖南省) and fought in South CHINA until end of World War II.
Aug 1945: PW was in YUNNAN-SHENG (雲南省) with the 53 Army, 26 Div, 348 Regt as a Sr Sgt, Artillery. The unit was completely equipped with US equipment at this time.
Winter 45: The unit then came by boat from KWANGTUNG (廣東) to TSING-TAO (~ ~ ) and by train to MUKDEN. Engaged in fighting the CCF in MUKDEN.
Date Unk : When MUKDEN fell, PW was made a (CCF) PW along with 400,000 other CNA troops in MANCHURIA. PW escaped from the CCF and walked to TIENTSIN (天津) in HOPEI-SHENG (河北省).
Date Unk : Joined TIENTSIN Police Dept and was with it for a year until the CCF invaded the city,
Apr 1949: Captured by the CCF and inducted into 38th Army. Though given a Jap “38” Rifle, as a rifleman, PW was never in battle with the CCF on their march southward, 38th Army occupied the KWANGHSI-SHENG and HUNAN-SHENG Area.
Jul 1950: Arrived KAIYUAN (開原) and stayed in a hotel with his platoon for about two months,
Oct 1950: Boarded a train with 338th Regt and traveled two days before stopping somewhere in KOREA.
10 Nov 50: Captured.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
No NK personnel were in PW's unit (338 Regt) either before or after crossing the YALU River.
Personnel and PW’s unit did not change at all and the unit retained all the same CO’s after entry to KOREA.
No explanation was given PW for CCF intervention.
Strength of PW's unit (2nd Div-probably 113rd Div) was 7,500, brought intact from South CHINA.
PW was not a volunteer for KOREA nor was his unit.
PW has observed no wireless communications below Regimental level.
All arms and equipment in PW's Co was brought to MANCHURIA along with the unit and wore in poor condition, PW received now winter uniforms in KAIYUAN, MANCHURIA.
The 2nd Div of 38th Army was scattered in KAIYUAN. PW's platoon lived for two months in a hotel in KAIYUAN.
The entire 338 Regt came across the YALU River in one train.
