ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 2338　22 November 1950

FIELD REPORT (ADVATIS FWD - 0227)　20 November 1950

PW was very cooperative. Answered all questions promptly. Information is considered fairly reliable.

5 Aug 50: PW was conscripted into NKA at P'YONGYANG. Assigned to 74th Regt but received no training.

5 Aug 50: PW departed P'YONGYANG for the south.

8 Aug 50: PW reached KAESONG (開城).

10 Aug 50: Departed KAESONG and reached SEOUL. During the time PW was stationed in SEOUL, worked in Propaganda Section.

25 Aug 50: PW departed SEOUL for CHUK SHUK-NI (竹山里) for propaganda purposes.

5 Nov 50: PW departed CHUK SAN-NI (竹山里). Went to YONG DUNG P’O (永登浦).

10 Nov 50: Captured by ROK.

PW was working as a communist propaganda agent so he traveled alone in civilian clothes and was never with his unit (74th Regt). Therefore, he did not know about his unit.

PW states that when he was on the propaganda campaign, he used to carry newspapers and leaflets. He read and explained them to the local people.

The newspapers and leaflets contained such propaganda as the NKA would annihilate the UN Forces in the near future and control the whole of KOREA; the UN air raids do not damage things seriously, they are merely last ditch tactics, etc.

When PW was attending KIM IL SONG University, he was summoned one day by his instructor and told that he was in the NKA 74th Regt from that day. He was scheduled to go to propaganda work immediately. The school received this order from higher headquarters.
