2. ASSESSMENT:
PW very cooperative - reliability, good.

3. CHRONOLOGY:
Aug 48: Inducted into CCF at YENCHI (延吉) MANCHURIA. Assigned to the 4th Field Army, 13th Army Gp, 38th Army, 114 Div, 33rd Regt, 3rd Bn, 7th Co, 1st Plat, 3rd Sqd. The 4th Field Army former Headquarters (1948) was in KAPBIN. The 13th Army Group former Headquarters viere in CHANG-CHUN (長春), The 38th Army former Headquarters was in YENCHI.
May 49: 13th Army Group moved to HANKOW CHINA.
Mar 50: 400 Koreans serving in above units, was ordered to go to KOREA to aid the NKA.
Jul 50: Arrived in SINUIJU, and proceeded to P’YONGYANG by rail.
6 Jul 50: PW and 200 others assigned to the 603rd Regt.

4. FORMER CCF UNITS
7th Co, 3rd Bn, 33rd Regt, 114th Div, 38th Army Gp, 4th Field Army.
Equipment in the 7th Co consisted of 80 x 38 Cal Japanese Rifles; 3 x LMG (US); 3 x LMG (Japanese) 9 x 45 Cal Grease Guns. Stationed in HMNKOU (漢口).
Equipment in 3rd Bn consisted of 7 x 30 cal I.HG (US ); 11 x J;MG (JAP); 27 x 45 cal Grease Guns (US); 3 x HMG (US); 3 x HMG (Jap); 3 x 60 mm Mortars (US); 6 hourse. Stationed in HANKOU.
Equipment in the 33rd Regt consisted of 8 x 82 mm Mortars (US).

MAJOR CAMPAIGNS
Engaged in battle against the Nationalist Army in TIENCHING (天津) for one day.

LOCATION OF UNITS AT TIME OF DEPARTURE FOR KOREA
PW’s unit, was in HANKOU, CHINA when he departed for KOREA.

UNIT COMPLEMENT TRASFERRED TO KOREA
When PW departed from his units only he and 400 Korean Nationals were sent to KOREA. The Chinese Nationals remained in HANKOU.

RECRUITING PROGRAM
The Army notified the civilian authorities of the number of men needed for military service and the mayors of each town and village were given a quota to fill.

PAY OF PERSONNEL
Officers (single):1500 Yuan (Chinese) and up
Officers (married):1500 Yuan (Chinese) and food and quarters
Sgts:60 Yuan (Chinese)
Pvts:30 Yuan (Chinese)
In MANCHURIA, a Pvt draws 70,000 Yuan a month.

PW sau only two (2) tanks (Jap make)

CAPTURED NATIONALIST TROOPS AND EQUIPMENT
Former Nationalist soldiers who made up the 42nd Army were sent to KOREA. The regular CCF has not as yet come to KOREA. Only officers and NCO's in the 42nd Army are regular CCF members. All equipment captured from the Nationalist Army is utilized by the CCF.

RATION AND CLOTHING
During the summer months, the CCF is fed 3 meals daily, During winter months they are fed 2 meals daily.
Summer clothing is issued twice a year. Each EM is authorized 2 uniforms. During the winter they are issued 2 heavy winter outfits.
