3. MILITARY HISTORY:10 Jun 48 - Volunteered and was assigned to 3rd Div, 9th Regt, 1st Bn, 2nd Co.
Received basic training for one year. The 9th Regt was stationed at HAMHUNG at that time.
13 Jul 49 - Transferred to 3rd Div, 7th Regt, 2nd Bn, HMG Co, at CHORWON (鐵原).
23 May 50 - PW was again transferred to the 3rd Div, 9th Regt'l HQ, stationed at KUMHWA (金化).
25 Jun 50 - 7th, 8th, 9th Regts met at POCHON (氾川) and the Div advanced to JUMCHON South Korea, arriving there on 8 Aug 50. On the way the Div passed SUWON (水原), CHONAN (天安), and TAEJON.
20 Sep 50 - The Div was annihilated at the battle of WAEGWAN (倭館) and the survivors were ordered to assemble at WONJU (原州) for reorganization. Due to lack of personnel, an order was issued to withdraw farther north and assemble at PYONGYANG (平壤).
1 Oct 50 - When PW arrived at PYONGYANG there were approx 1,200 troops from 3rd Div. The 1st Div, 13th Div, and 15th Div were also assembling here.
15 Oct 50 - When these groups left PYONGYANG, PW deserted and headed toward his home in HUNGNAM, but, learning about NK troops hiding out in the mountains on the out-skirts of HAMHUNG, he went directly to HAKAL WOO RI (下碣) arriving there on 1 Nov 50.
2 Nov 50 - Fearing that he might be caught by NK troops, he headed for SINHUNG and was captured there by 5th Marines.
When PW arrived at HAKAL WOO RI he observed NK troops fleeing in disorder toward the north. PW was told by nne soldier that these were the 568th Unit and the 565th Unit and that they were ordered to assemble at HYESAN JIN (惠山鎭).
PW also heard that all NK troops will withdraw to HYESAN JIN and MANPO JIN (麻浦鎭) for reorganization.
4. FOREIGN ELEMENTS:On 1 Nov 50 PW observed about one Regt of CCF at CHOSIN reservoir. These troops were billeted in civilian homes. No heavy weapons, such as mortars, artillery or tanks were observed.
5. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:PW heard that approx 200,000 CCF troops will come to the aid of North Korea. These CCF troops will commence an all out attack with the aid of about 800 planes.
