UNIT HISTORY:
This unit fought against the Chinese Nationalist Forces and suffered heavy losses. Present strength about 65% of T/O, mostly recruits.

UNIT STRENGTH AT PRESENT:
Bn - 360 to 400 men.
Co - 90 to 100 men.
Plat - 30 men.

WEAPONS AND AMMO:
3/60mm mortars in each Co.
3/LMGs in each Co.
4/HMGs in each Bn.
Each man equipped with Jap model 38 rifle w/40 rds of ammo and 4 hand grenades.
3 boxes of rifle ammo held in reserve in each Co.
Each man in mortar Co carried 6 rds of mortar shells.

FOOD AND CLOTHING:
Each man clothed in winter comforter type clothing.
2 meals per day (Koliang)

MOVEMENT OF UNIT:
Aug 50 - Conscripted.
16 Oct 50 - Crossed YALU River near MANPOJIN (滿浦鎮), NK.

ENEMY INTENTIONS:
PW was never told why or where they were going.

REASON FOR CCF FORCES BEING COMMITTED IN NK:
The Co comdr told the men that since the US Forces are aiding SK, Chinese Forces must come to the aid of NK. They were also told that they will be sent back to CHINA as soon as the war was over.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
No large concentration of troops observed enroute. Observed 3/120mm guns being hauled by trucks of the NKA immediately after crossing the YALU River:
PW believed he would be killed upon capture and was thankful for kind treatment.
