2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was of average intelligence and cooperative. Information reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
5 Sep 48: Volunteered at SINUIJU and assigned to the 1st Div. Training for 6 months.
13 Apr 49: Arrived at HAEJU with the 1st Regt of the 1st Div. Promoted to Jr Sgt. Received advance training, established defensive positions and dug air raid shelters.
5 Sep 50: Was transferred to the 74th Regt of the 566 Unit, commissioned a Jr Lt and assigned as plat ldr. 566 Unit established defensive positions for one month.
8 Oct 50: Arrived at YONAN.
9 Oct 50: Was attacked by UN Forces, hid in the hills and later surrendered.

Unit Organization & Strength:
The Div (numerical designation unk) had 10,000 men.
The 566 Unit was made up of 3 Inf Regts and 1 Arty Regt.
The 74th Regt was composed of 3 Bns, 3 Cos each Bn and 3 Plats in each Co.
One supply Co, one Engr Co, one Trans Co, one Communication Co, one Medical Co & one Recon Co directly attached to unit.

Equipment:
74th Regt was equipped with 18 × 82 mm mortars; 3 × 76 mm Arty pieces; 3 × 45 mm Arty pieces; 37 HMG’s; 27 LMG’s; Submachine guns & Rifles. 2,500 rds of ammo to a HMG; 800 rds to a LMG; 210 to each man with a submachine gun 100 rds to each man with a rifle.

Unit History:
5 Sep 50: 566 Unit was organized at HAEJU with all EM being recruits. About 100 men from the 1st Regt, 1st Div were transferred to this unit as a nucleus for the Div. The Div was at HAEJU establishing defensive positions on 9 Oct 50. Was committed at YONAN where it was overrun by UN Forces.

Morale & Propaganda:
