3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
25 Nov 46: Volunteered at UNGI and sent to SONGJIN. Received basic training while doing railroad guard duty for one year.
? Dec 47: Sent to the Cultural School at CHINNAMPO.
15 Oct 48: Commissioned Lt and assigned to the 43rd Bn Hq directly under the 4th Div as Cultural Officer.
15 Jun 50: Reassigned to the NKA Hg Cultural section at PYONGYANG.
4 Aug 50: Reassigned to the Cultural Section of the NKA Advance Ho which was located at SEOUL.
17 Sep 50: Moved to CHORWON with the Advance Hq.
8 Oct 50: The Advance Hq was divided into a West Advance Hg and an East Advance Hq. The West Advance Hq moved to NAMCHONJON, while the East Advance Hq stayed at CHORWON.
11 Oct 50: Reassigned to the Cultural Section, 43rd Div Hq at HAEJU
13 Oct 50: Transferred to the 1st Regt (66 Regt) Hq located at MOKTAN MYON TO.
15 Oct 50: 43rd Div was ordered to retreat to PYONGYANG by way of SARIWON.
17 Oct 50: Retreated by truck to SOJON MYON near CHAERYONG. After leaving SOJON MYON retreated on foot but felt that the situation was hopeless so surrendered with 8 others at HWANGJU

Unit History:
20 Sep 50: The 43rd Div started organizing.
5 Oct 50: Organization completed. Enough men but no equipment. The 43rd Div was made up mostly of the former 74th Ind Regt and fresh troops. After the 43rd Div was organized the designation of the 74th Ind Regt was changed to 1st Regt (66 Regt) of the 43rd Div.
12 Oct 50: The 1st Regt (66th Regt) had defensive positions established around YON BEK KUN Area. 2nd Regt (68 Regt) was at ONGIN Area. The 3rd (97th) Regt was receiving training somewhere between HAEJU & YONAN.
17 Oct 50: Div ordered all Regts to retreat to PYONGYANG. Believed Staff Officers retreated safely, but other elements, either captured or annihilated.

Knowledge of other Units:
The 19th Div was along side the 43rd Div in the vicinity of HAEJU around 12 Oct 50.

The Advance Hq of the NKA was mede up as follows:
