2. ASSESSMENT:
Information is very limited due to the short period of service. Report is fairly reliable. Informant was cooperative.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
16 Aug 50: Conscripted at PYONGYANG & assigned to Signal Technician Training School for 30 days.
22 Sep 50: Sent to SINUIJU & brought back radio transmitter which had been sent from Russia. (Exact source unknown)
7 Oct 50: Sent to HAEJU was assigned to Sig Bn attached to 43rd Div Hq.
16 Oct 50: PW deserted & hid.
18 Oct 50: Captured by ROK,

Morale & Propaganda:
Morale was low because of no weapons, no training & forced conscription. Did not see any propaganda leaflets.

4. GENERAL:
The Signal Technician School at PYONGYANG used obsolete Russian-made, equipment. The students did not go into radio very thoroughly. They did not even learn to make minor repairs. The sets were not taken apart but the connections were pointed out & explained by the instructors. The radios used at the school had the numbers 13 P and A-7-A on the nameplate.
The PW’s Signal Bn had a total of 13 radios but they were never used. PW claimed they were unnecessary.
