2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was replacement and his military knowledge is limited. However, he is cooperative. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
1 Aug 50 Drafted into the 78th Regt, stationed at SARIWON. Assigned to 45mm Arty Co, 78th Regt, as a gunner in the grade of Pvt. Received basic training in gunnery until 17th Sep 50, However no Arty was available.
10 Aug 50 Promoted to Cpl.
23 Sep 50 Unit (45mm Arty Co) Arrived UIJONGBU.
24 Sep 50 Marched to SEOUL with rifles only.
26 Sep 50 On arrival SEOUL, deserted and ran North.
12 Oct 50 Surrendered to ROK troops at SONGAKSAN (松嶽山), approx 6km N of KAESONG.

Unit Organization and Strength:
PW's unit was a replacement unit consisting of 54 men. The 45mm Arty Co had no Arty, only rifles for each man.

Equipment:
54 rifles, 7 horses, and one horse cart.

Personalities:
Lt LEE, Hi Taek, CO of 45mm Arty CO. Age: 29.
Lt KIM, Myong Chun, Chief of political section of the 45mm Arty Co. Age: 26.

Morale:
54 men of PW's unit were drafted. Therefore, most of them are not willing to sacrifice their lives for the communist group. Lack of weapons and food also lowered morale.
