15 Aug 49: Inducted at CHINNAMP’O (鎭南浦) and assigned to 2nd Sqd, 1st Plat, 6th Co, Ind 2nd Bn, 4th Brig.
20 Aug 49: Moved to P’YONGYANG.
5 Sep 49: Departed for maneuvers.
7 Sep 49: Arrived SONGNIM (松林).
5 Oct 49: Returned to P’YONGYANG.
21 Dec 49: Promoted to Sgt (中士) with duty as 2nd Sqd Ldr, 1st Plat, 6th Co, Ind 2nd Bn, 4th Brigs.
21 Mar 50: Transferred to NAM SINUIJU (南新義州). Assigned duty as assistant 2nd Plat Ldr, 9th Co, 3rd Bn, 23rd Regt, 13th Div.
8 May 50: Promoted to M/SGE (特務上士).
o/a 15 Jun 50: 13th Div went south by train for maneuvers.
16 Jun 50: Arrived KUMCH’ON (金川)
18 Jun 50: Arrived 2km W of KUMGONG-Ni (金谷里) in the mountains.
19 Jun 50: 13th Div received ammunitions.
0200 25 Jun 50: Was alerted and heard NK forces were crossing the 38th parallel to fight the south Koreans.
29 Jun 50: Received orders to cross 38th parallel.
o/a 2 Jul 50: Arrived INCH’ON via CHOKSONG (積城), TONGDUCH’ON (東豆川), SEOUL AND YONGDUNGP’O (永登浦).
2 Aug 50: 23rd Regt, 13th Div left SEOUL.
10 Aug 50: 21st Regt, 13th Div annihilated at NAKTONG River.
12 Aug 50: 23rd Regt, 13th Div crossed NAKDONG River via YONGDUNGP’O, SUWON, YOJU (麗州), CH’UNGJU (忠州), MUN’GYONG (聞慶), SANGJU (尙州).
15 Aug 50: Arrived TABU-DONG (多富洞). 3rd Bn, 23rd Regt annihilated.
17 Aug 50: Commissioned Jr Lt (少尉)
20 Aug 50: Contracted Malaria and was sent to SANGDONG (山峒) Myon and received treatment by civilian doctor.
26 Sep 50: Arrived ANJONG (安定) and voluntarily surrendered to G-2, 7th Rok Regt.

As of 15 Aug 50 at NAMSINUIJU strength of 13th Div was approximately 8,000.

13th Div Hq was located approx 300 m NW of SINUIJU Station. 23rd Regt Hq was located approx 100 m SW of South SINUIJU RR Station. 19th Regt Hq was located in SINUIJU City, to the west of railroad. 21st Regt Hq was located at YONGAMP'O (龍岩浦).

Other Units:
P'YONGYANG Areas:
As of 19 Mar 50 first P'YONGYANG Military and 105th Tank Brig were located between SADONG (寺洞) and MIRIM (美林) Areas.
605th Army Arsenal (879-1818) was located at 5th Inf Regt, 2nd Div (879.8-1818.7) Area. Was guarded by 5th Inf Regt and an arty Regt, attached to GHQ.
Location of Arty Regt - (879-1818.8) area, Heard Corps Arty guns were located at this point. Observed 2 x 76mm M1938 AT Guns. Strength of arty Regt was approx 2,000.

Policy of selecting military academy candidates in 1948:
90% from Communist party members
(9/10 are primary school graduates)
(1/10) are higher school graduates)
10% from neutral party members

Members of the following two parties are not authorized to enter the military academy:
1. Anti-Communists
2. CH'ONDOGO (天道敎) (천도교)

Russian Advisers:
On the evening of the 16 Aug 50 at TABU-DONG (다부동) PW observed one Russian Advisers in a jeep making a front line inspection. Age was about 45. Was wearing NK Officers' uniform with no insignias.
Ammunition dump for 23rd Regt as of 15 May 50 was located south of the SINUIJU Area containing unknown quantities of 76mm shells, HMG ammunition, SMG ammunition, 82mm mortar shells, and hand grenades. SEE attached sketch.
