2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative, he was born and educated in MANCHURIA, arrived KOREA 45, and attended school in North KOREA 4 years before being conscripted into the NKA.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
8 Jul 50 - Conscripted into NKA in P’YONGYANG. No basic training received. Assigned to 17th Armored Div as a mechanic in the 1st Bn.
20 Aug 50 - 1st Bn and AA Co (approx 100 men) departed P’YONGYANG by rail with equipment, arrived WONJU (1090-1610) o/a 26 Aug 50.
26 Aug 50 - Departed WONJU by tanks and trucks.
2 Sep 50 - Arrived UISONG. 3 tanks and crew members left here because of mechanical failure. Bn CO sent 4 x tanks to KUSAN-Dong (九山洞), 5 x tanks to KUNWI (軍威), and 4 tanks to UIHUNG (義興). PW remained in UISONG with 5 x tanks for minor repairs. 80% of tanks had been used in the World War II by the Russians.
20 Sep 50 - 80 men of 1st Bn, retreated to 8 km N of YONGJU and went into mountains.
26 Sep 50 - Surrendered to ROK troops.

T/O & E of 1st Bn:
40 officers, 120 EM, 22 x T-34/85 medium tanks, 3 x 2 1/2 ton trucks. All necessary tools for repairs are carried by each tank.

Equipments:
Last known number of tanks - two (26 Sep 50).
