2. ASSESSMENT:
PW had no tactical information of value. HE was interrogated primarily for his activities with S Korean anti-communist units.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
11 Oct 49: Inducted into the Security force at P’YONGYANG, received 2 weeks training, and later assigned to the RR Guard unit, 12th Bn.
26 Jul 50: Departed P’YONGYANG
20 Aug 50: Arrived in KUMCH’ON. The unit hq in KUMCH’ON, the subordinate units were deployed along the RR to guard tunnels and bridges. Stationed about 4 km N of KUMCH’ON on the KUMCH’ON to SANGJU RR. but bivouacked in the hills W of the railroad.
O/a 25 Aug 50: Heard from S Korean whom he had known in N. KOREA that some S Koreans had parachuted in the vicinity for behind the line activities. Was told to meet one of the parachutists. The parachutist told him that UN troops would start an offensive shortly and he should escape to TAEGU.
O/a 3 Sep 50: Arrived near the NAKTONG River at YANGMOK (若木), but since there were so many NKA troops there he feared discovery and backtracked.
O/a 13 Set 50: Arrived at a point about 10 km NW of KUMCH’ON, where he encountered about 15 South Korean pre-war residents of N KOREA led by a S Korean policeman had organized the 15 men into a anti-NKA band for harassing NKA rear areas.
O/a 13 Sept 50: After PW mentioned his previous anti-communist activities in N. KOREA, gave information on deployment of NKA units and gave a blood oath he was taken into confidence. IT was not known how the leader transmitted information about NKA deployment to UN forces. The band disarmed escaping NKA troops.
1 Oct 50: Arrived in OKCH’ON which was already occupied by UN troops. Here the leader of the group told him that since he was an ex-NKA member they could not take him to their next mission in SEOUL. Was left at the OKCH’ON police station and given a letter of verification of actions by the leader (See attached enclosure).
6 Oct 50: Sent to TAEJON.
