2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative and fairly intelligent, Information limited due to short military service. Reliability good.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
27 Aug 50 - PW was inducted at NAMCH’ONJOM (南川店) and was assigned to the 26th Brigade. PW was commissioned Jr Lt (少尉) and assigned to the Medical Aid Station, 4th Hvy Weapon Bn as a medical officer.
1 Sep 50 - The 4th Hvy Weapon Bn evacuated to a hill located approximately 6 km N of NAMCH’ONJOM because the UN bombing was severe.
23 Sep 50 - The 4th Hvy Weapon Bn moved to a village located approximately 12 km E of YONGP’YONG (永平) near the 38th parallel.
O/a 7 Oct 50 - The 4th Hvy Weapon Bn moved to a point approx 6 km N of KORANGP’O-RI (高良浦里).
9 Oct 50 - UN Forces advanced to KORANGP’O-RI and fought against the 4th Hvy Weapon Bn. PW estimated that 30% of the personnel in the 4th Hvy Weapon Bn were killed, wounded and captured. Remaining men of the Bn fled Northward.
10 Oct 50 - PW and his fellow medical officer surrendered to ROK troops.

82mm Mortar Co: Approximately 80 men. PW observed 3 82mm mortars. Most of the men did not have any weapons.
45mm AT Gun Plat: About 30 men.
Signal Plat: About 20 men.
Medical Aid Station: 3 Medical Officer and 2 EM.

Last Known Composition of Unit:
PW stated that the 4th Hvy Weapon Bn 26th Brigade was completely disorganized on 10 Oct 50 at 6 km N of KORANGP’O-RI. PW did not know the location of the other units.

Unit History:
PW heard that the 26th Brigade was organized in early Aug 50 at NAMCH’ONJOM.
