FIELD REPORT (ADVATIS FWD - 0101)　20 October 1950

PW was cooperative, however, seemed to be of low intelligence. Information considered reliable.

5 Jul 50 - Conscripted at PYONGYANG (平壞) and assigned to 2134 RR Security Bn Hq Supply, 6765 RR Security Brigade.

20 Jul 50 - 2134 Bn arrived CHONAN (天安), rested 7 days.

29 Jul 50 - arrived TAEJON (大田) and patrolled RR line between CHOCHIWON and OKCHON.

12 Sep 50 - 2134 Bn was ordered to OSAN (吳山), but Bn Hq stayed in TAEJON.

15 Sep 50 - 2134 Bn Hq, arrived at CHONAN by trucks, and observed UN forces entering CHONAN, 30 men of 2134 Bn Hq including PW abandoned vehicles & ran to the hills.

20 Sep 50 - These 30 men met the tactical operation chief of staff with 19 men of 2134 Bn accidently on a mountain near WONJU (原州), and heard that the entire 2134 Bn was annihilated by the UN forces at OSAN. The 50 men headed toward CHUNCHON (春川).

23 Sep 50 - PW and one other person deserted at the outskirts of CHUNCHON and were captured 8 Oct 50 by UN forces.

The 6765 RR Security Brig was composed to 12 Bns. Each had 4 Cos.

PW estimated that the strength of 2134 Bn was approx 731 men.

134 Bn - 36 LMG’s (Russ Make); 118 Automatic rifles (Russ Made)

To patrol RR line.

Communications between units were conducted by telephones.

Morale was low among the men, because they were forced into the service, and majority of the men believed that Communism was not what they wanted.
