2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appeared to be of an average intelligence.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
15 May 49: Drafted into the NKA at HOERYONG (會寧) and assigned to 2nd Sqd, 3rd Plt, 3rd Co, 3rd En, 766 Inf Unit and received two months infantry basic training.
24 Mar 50: Transferred to KUMCH’ON (金川) and assigned as cadre to the 1st Plt, 3rd Co, 592nd Ind Inf Bn which was activated in early part of Mar 50. Stayed there for about four months training recruits.
26 Jul 50: 592nd Ind Inf Bn arrived SEOUL (서울) by train. Remained there for ten days.
18 Sep 50: 592nd Ind Inf Bn arrived at YANGMOK (若木), on foot via SUWON (水原), P’YONG T'AEK (平澤), CH’ONAN (天安), CHOCH’IWON (鳥致院), TAEJON (大田), OKCH’ON (沃川), YONGDONG (永同) and KUMCH’ON (金泉). While he was enroute to KUMCH’ON he was commissioned a Jr Lt (少尉) 14 Aug 50 and appointed as plt ldr. He was wounded at YANGMOK and hospitalized at the TAEJON Field Hospital for ten days.
29 Sep 50: The TAEJON Field Hospital started to evacuate toward CHOCH'IWON.
2 Oct 50: He was captured at MAENG-DONG (孟洞) by the S. Korean local police.

Unit Organization and Strength:
The 592nd Ind Inf En was composed of three (3) rifle Cos, a Signal Plt and an Engr plt. Actual strength of the Bn was 350 men who were all untrained conscripts from N. KOREA. They were recruited at the time of activation in Mar 50. While PW was in the TAEJON Field Hospital in Sep 50, he heard from a wounded soldier that the Bn was completely annihilated on the NAKTONG front near WAEGWAN (倭館).

Equipment:
The 592nd Ind Inf Bn was originally equipped with 36 x LMG, 45 x SMG and two trucks.
