ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 1875　16 October 1950

FIELD REPORT (ADV ECH ATIS - 0028)　10 October 1950

Education-none. PW of poor intelligence. Reliability of informant-poor.

Farmer until 15 Sep 50 at SUKCHON. While the 19th Div was on its way to KYONG SONG WI deserted his unit and surrendered to the UN Forces.

Conscripted into the N Korean Army on 16 Sep 50 and was sent to the 19th Inf Div at SUKCHON. He stayed at SUKCHON with the 19th Div for about a week constructing pill boxes. No basic training received.

The 19th Div is believed to have been formed o/a Aug 50 and was stationed at SUKCHON. Left SUKCHON 21 Sep 50 and arrived at KAESONG on 26 Sep 50. PW believes that the 19th Div was sent to KAESONG area to meet the UN Forces along the INJIN River.

PW saw one Russian Officer on 18 Sep 50 inspecting the regt’s area. It is believed that this officer was with the Div Hqs all the time.
