PW was cooperative, but not very observant. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
15 Sep 46 - PW volunteered for the NKPA at P'YONGYANG. Since he had served in the Veterinary Section 7489 Unit (Japanese Army) for 3½ years as a civilian, he was commissioned a Jr Lt (少尉).
Assigned to the Veterinary Unit, 3rd Independent Brigade in P'YONGYANG.
2 Jan 47 - PW was transferred to the Veterinary Section, 2nd Bn, 3rd Independent Brigade in SONGJIN (城津).
? Oct 48 - Unit moved to CH'ORWON (鐵元). The 2nd Bn was expanded and designated as the 7th Regt, 3rd Div. Assinged to the Veterinary Unit. Promoted to Sr Lt (大尉).
7 Mar 50 - Promoted to Capt (總尉) and transferred to the Veterinary Unit, 9th Regt, 3rd Div in KUMHWA (金化). Became the assistant CO.
25 Jun 50 - The 3rd Div crossed the 38° Parallel. PW took command of the Veterinary Unit.
28 Aug 50 - The Veterinary Unit reached YONGJON (龍田), approx 6 km E of KUMCH'ON. It traveled alone and joined no other units of the 3rd Div after they departed from SEOUL.
The Veterinary Unit was ordered by the 9th Div Hqs to remain at YONGJON and take care of the wounded horses.
The Unit lost contact with the 9th Regt after 2 Sep 50.
26 Sep 50 - PW ordered his unit to evacuate north because he heard that WAEGWAN (倭館) had been retaken by the US troops. PW and 8 subordinates walked through the mountains towards SEOUL.
28 Sep 50 - Met 2 N Korean soldiers somewhere S of CH'UNGJU and heard that SEOUL and TAEJON had been retaken by UN Forces.
29 1200 Sep 50 - Unit surrendered to ROK troops at SONDO-SAN.

Note: 1 cart was the only vehicle in the Regt Veterinary Unit.
The Regt'l Veterinary Unit took care of only those horses that could be returned to duty within 3 or 4 days. Wounded horses that could not be returned to duty within 4 days were sent to the Veterinary section of Div.
PW estimated that there were approximately 600 horses in the 3rd Div.
PW's unit had treated 27 horses from the 9th Regt since the war started. Only 4 horses were returned to the 9th Regt. The remaining 23 were abandoned because they could not be used.
