6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
a. Disposition of 2nd Div: This unit was originally stationed at HAMHUNG (咸興). Departed for CHONJU area on 19 Jun 50. This unit was known as an outstanding organization.
b. Medical Corps Regulations: NK Medical corps regulation require medical personnel to wear Red Cross arm bands, but due to inadequacy of supply and personal carelessness, this is not always done. The regulation also permits medical personnel to carry arms. Due to scarcity of weapons, only those who were in service early in the war were armed. (see attached chart of 13 Div Med Organization)
c. Supply Ports: WONSAN (元山) (good condition), HUNGNAM (興南) (used extensively but poor facilities), SONGJIN (城津), and NACHIN (羅津) (naval base) were used as terminals for supplies from Russia by ships. HONRI (洪儀) was the terminal for land transported supplies.

7. SPECIAL EEI:
a. Economically, NK is divided into three groups.
The first group are Communist Party members. This group includes some who joined the party to better their economic lot and those who joined for fear of personal injury.
The second group consists of prosperous people such as merchants and land owners and the educated. This group is classed as anti-communist.
The third group are the average citizens without knowledge of the outside world. These people will go along with any type of government, so long as they have enough to satisfy their wants. They are not happy with the present governmental system, but due to lack of leadership, are in no position to do anything about it.
The farmers could be divided into two groups. Half of them are happy in a way because they were given land under the land reform plan. However, their taxes and delivery quotas have been raised and they too, are becoming dissatisfied. The remaining half are the former landlords.
b. Politically, NK is divided into the following factions.
Communist Party Members - 40 per cent
Communist Democratic Party Members (many Christians) - 20 per cent.
Chon U Party Members (religious Shinto-like group) - 10 per cent.
The remaining 30 per cent belong to no political factions.
c. The above estimates gained through personal questioning of citizens in HAMGYONG PUKTO (咸鏡北道), PYONGAN PUKTO (平安北道) AND HAMGYONG NUMDO (咸鏡南道) Provinces, while subject was attending patients.
