PW was cooperative, but not too intelligent. Information here-in is fairly reliable.

7 Aug ‘50 - Inducted into the NKPA and was attached to 3 Inf Div, Signal Bn, 2 Co. (at PYONGYANG)

15 Aug ‘50 - Transferred to 25 Brig HQ, Postal Section. Appointed Jr. Lt. on the same date.

26 Aug ‘50 - Entire 25 Brig left PYONGYANG.

29 Aug ‘50 - Arrived CHORWON (鉄原).

1 Sep ‘50 - Entire 25 Brig left CHORWON.

13 Sep ‘50 - Arrived SEOUL.

28 Sep ‘50 - Captured by 1st Marines.

25 Brig consisted of approx 3,500 men (23 Sep ‘50).

There were 9 Bns in 25 Brig; HQ Bn, Sig Bn, Transp Bn, 120mm Mortar Bn and 5 HMG Bns.

20/120mm mortars

70/HMG in 5 HMG Bns - about 2,000 rds per gun.

400/PPSH Tommy guns - 142 rds per gun.

1,500/MOSSIN rifles - 100 rds per rifle.

40 trucks were assigned to 25 Brig.

The APO numbers for the 25 Brig were as follows:

#8751 - Sig Bn

#8753 - Transp Bn

#8755 - 120mm Mortar Bn

#8759 - HMG Bn, 1st Bn

While PW was engaged in postal section, he observed mail written in Russian. The above mail was for the 25th Brig CO. The post mark on the envelope was from PYONGYANG. The letters going out from the 25th Brig CO were also written in Russian, but place names were written in Korean. All mail was sent to PYONGYANG Central Post Office.
