ASSESSMENT:
Very cooperateive. On 5 Jul 50, PW was told by a friend that Constabularymen were coming to conscript PW for the NKPA so PW ran into the mountains and hid. Upon returning home the following day, however, he arrested by order of the SUTONG NI Labor Party (Communist) Cell Chief and conscripted for the NKPA. PW vows that when he returns home, he will kill the cell chief for taking PW away from his aged parents, wife. Information extremely limited, because PW deserted from the 105th Armored Div on the day he joined it.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted on 9 Jul 50 at HAMHUNG.
Departed from HAMHUNG on 13 Jul 50 with approx 500 other recruits, and reached KUMCHON o/a 10 Aug 50.
Proceeded form KUMCHON o/a 10 Aug 50 to a point approx 8 Km south of KUMCHON where the 500 recruits were assigned to the 105th Armored Div o/a 10 Aug 50. That night, PW deserted with intention of returning to his home in NORTH KOREA. He wandered in a generally northward direction, stopping at tiny villages for food and to sleep. (Most of the farmers were sympathetic to PW.) Finally reaching CHONGJU on 27 Sep 50, PW surrendered immediately to ROK soldiers occupying the city.
When PW surrendered he was holding a Safe Conduct Pass, but the ROK soldiers took it away from him.
