Subject was very cooperative and observant.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
29 Jul 50 Inducted at CHONGJIN (淸津)
1 Aug 50 Departed CHONGJIN
2 Aug 50 Arrived ODAEJIN (漁大津) and departed by rail for KYONGSONG (鏡城)
3 Aug 50 Arrived KYONGSONG, received clothing and hid due to air attack.
10 Aug 50 Departed KYONGSONG and arrived SONGJIN (城津). Hid in mountains due to continous air attack.
17 Aug 50 Departed SONGJIN by rail for TOGWON (德源).
22 Aug 50 Arrived TOGWON - one (1) bn (1200 men) activated and departed by rail for PYONGYANG.
26 Aug 50 Arrived PYONGYANG and received rifles and hid due to air attacks.
1 Sep 50 Bn (1200 men) departed PYONGYANG on foot for NAMYANG via KAESONG (開城) and SEOUL.
13 Sep 50 Arrived NAMYANG (南陽) and rested for 2 days in a middle school bldg.
15 Sep 50 Departed NAMYANG on foot to place called DOKJI RI (獨津里) on same day and was told by his Co CO that the unit was the 3rd Bn, 64th Regt attached to the 18th Div. Code No. 226. For 7 days men of the 226 Unit ordered civilians to dig fox holes.
22 Sep 50 Departed on foot to PYONGTAEK (平沢)
26 Sep 50 Arrived PYONGTAEK.
27 Sep 50 Departed PYONGTAEK for mountains near OSAN (烏山). Received heavy firing from UN Forces. PW‘s squad retreated to KUNYANGJANG NI (金良場) and was captured by UN Forces.

4. WEAPONS & PERSONNEL:
3rd Bn, 64th Regt, 226 Unit: 800 men
Equipment: 4/43MM Howitzers, 2/HMG, 6/LMG, 3/trucks and limited number of rifles with 20 rds of ammo each. Hand grenades called "El Gee 42" also issued.

5. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A. CHONGJIN (淸津)
Prior to induction, the following were observed in Jul 50.
1. Food and Ammo Dumps (semi-underground)
Location: At the foot of a 50M high hill approx 1 Km SE of the village of INGOK TONG (仁谷洞) and approx 3 Km to 4 Km SE of a cemetery located in CHIKHA DONG (ShokaDo) (칙각동)
2. Powder Cave:
Location: Adjacent to a radio station tower, approx 400M S of the primary school and approx 1 Km ESE of the CHONGJIN RR Station.
3. Gun Emplacements:
Location: Subject observed two (2) cannons on CHONMA MT (天馬山)
4. Army and Navy Barracks:
Location: The Army and Navy barracks were adjacent to the primary school, 1 Km SE of the RR station. There was a regiment of Naval Forces. Unknown strength.

B. ODAEJIN (漁大津)
1. Army Personnel: There were approx 1,000 men commanded by Capt CHANG, KYONG JUN
2. Airfield: Observation - 1 Aug 50 from distance of 50 M
Location: Between the town of CHONGJIN and NANAM (羅南)
Size: 2 Km x 1.5 Km
Runway: Three (3) concrete runways 700 to 800M in length and 20M in width.
Planes: 4 YAK-3 piloted by Russians. There were revetments on the N portion of the field.
Forces: An army regt was stationed adjacent to this field. It was either a replacement or assembly area for the NKA.

C. KYONGSONG (鏡城)
1. Training Center: Observation-3-10 Aug 50
Location: In a primary school adjacent to a middle school. There were approx 700 men.

D. TOGWON (德源)
1. Naval Hospital: Observation - 22 Aug 50
Location: It was located in the Agriculture University.

E. SK PsW CAMP Observation - Jul 50
Location: In HERYON (會寧)
Number: Observed about 700 SK PsW being transported by rail to HERYON.

F. RUSSIAN FORCES
Hearsay: Subject heard from a friend that there were two (2) Russian Divisions on the border of Manchuria in Jul 50.
