PW intelligent and vary cooperative. Reliability good. No further interrogation recommended.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
28 Jul 50 - Inducted at SEOUL into NKPA 13th Div, 21st Regt, Medical Section.
29 Jul 50 - PW departed SEOUL, marched via CH'UNGJU (忠州), MUN’GYONG (聞慶), HAMCH’ANG (咸昌).
27 Aug 50 - joined Volunteer Corps (2,000 men) at SANGJU (尙州)
28 Aug 50 - PW and volunteers departed SANGJU, arrived TABU-DONG, 5 Sep 50. 2,000 men were divided and assigned to 8th, 13th and 1st Divs. Assigned to Medical Section, 21st Regt, 13th Div. Medical Section had 40 men. PW was promoted to M/Sgt and assigned to pharmacist section. Two men in pharmacist section. PW and Lee, (fnu) ; Sr Lt (大尉) Age 21.
15 Sep 50 - Medical Section departed, marched same day arrived TABU-DONG.
25 Sep 50 - PW read leaflets and decided to surrender.
26 Sep 50 - 21st Regt retreated, but PW and 2 stretcher bearers deserted.
28 Sep 50 - PW came down to TABU-DONG to surrender to ROK Police force.

Water purifier was never used in Medic Sections.

NKPA personnel receive:
Smallpox vaccination yearly
Typhus Vaccine yearly
Tetanus toxoid yearly (only men who were going to S KOREA)
Cholera yearly
All vaccines were US made and came from SHANGHAI, CHINA by train through MANCHURIA.

Pharmacist Sect CO - LEE, fnu (李――) Age 21; Sr Lt Graduated P’YONGYANG Pharmacist College.

Vehicles:
Medic Section had one large bus (30 men capacity) Japanese made. Pharmacist S ect chief and medicine were transported on this bus. Rest of the personnel marched. Bus painted white and had a Red Cross Insignia painted on the back of the bus. No guns were mounted on the bus.

Supplies:
Received average of one rice ball a day. PW heard 21st Regt received rice and ammunition from ANDONG (安東).

Foreign Elements:
On 25 Jul 50, PW observed four (4) Russian Advisers (wearing civilian clothes) and inspecting the Rubber Co, 1 km of SINUJIJU Station.

PW Information:
28 Jul 50, at CHONGNOT'ONG in SEOUL PW saw about 300 US PsW marching toward TONGDAEMUN (東大門), singing songs. They also carried a large sign which said, “US Forces you'd better retreat!” in Korean language. They all wore US uniforms (fatigues). PW was not able to tell where they came from.

Morale and Propaganda:
25 Sep 50, at TABUDONG, PW and 10 men read leaflets and wanted to surrender.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
Following Chart shows losses by air raid on 6 Aug 50, and replacements from 13th Div Hq on 7 Sep 50, as well as remaining stocks on 26 Sep 50.
