ASSESSMENT:
PW is intelligent, but seems reticent.

T/O & E AND STRENGTH OF UNIT:
A Constabulary brigade (designation unknown) was formed on 1 Aug 50 in SEOUL with a PAK, FUN IL (Colonel or Sr Colonel) in command. Approximately 95% of this unit consisted of conscripted South Korean, who had received less than a month of military training. The remaining 5% consisted of ill-trained North Korean troops.
This Brigade consisted of 4 regiments.
Four Bns to Regt. Original strength 6th Bn, 800 men. Present, 100 men.

LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:
The 103rd Regimental Headquarters was located in a temple in KO-UNSA, approximately 8 Km North of UISONG, as of 24 Sep 50. Headquarters believed to have been withdrawn to ANDONG.
Objective was to occupy the area between UISONG and KUSAN DONG after capture by 8th Division.
On 21 Sep 50, the remnants of the 8th Division were seen retreating to UISONG, where they were told to reorganize and retreat to ANDONG.
The 103rd Regiment had orders to defend the UISONG sector. Their defense line was approximately 27 Km long, along the road from UISONG to KUSAN-DONG. No withdrawal plans had been made by this regiment.
The 101st Regiment of the Constabulary brigade was located in CHONG-SONG.
The 108th Regiment was located in TAEJON.
The 107th Regiment was located in INCHON.

PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
Conscripted 2 Aug 50 at WONSAN with 300 other university students.
PW had received approximately one year ROTC Training at the university.
All conscripted students were sent to P’YONGYANG PW's group of 90 students were sent to SEOUL on 12 Aug 50. Forty-five (45) of these received training for staff work for 2 weeks at SEOUL, while the other 45 received artillery training for 2 weeks. These latter were to have been attached to a prospective artillery unit in the constabulary brigade.
PW and 5 other (staff trainees) left for TANGOHON on 27 Aug 50, where two went to the 101st Regiment, and four to the 103rd Regiment. Arrived SHIMGANG SCN 9 Sep 50.
PW and 3 others upon reaching the 103rd Regiment were given staff duties in the battalion and regiment.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
No food supplies were received during time PW was in the 103rd Regiment. They lived off the land and usually ate one to two meals daily.
No ammo was received after their initial issue o/a 27 Aug 50.

ARMOR & ARTILLERY:
The 6th Battalion commander was heard to say that an artillery unit would be formed in the 6th Battalion.

MORALE:
Morale low due to insufficient food and ammo supplies, and because of the ineffective battle the green troops were conducting.
Many were known to fear the consequences of surrendering to US or ROK troops.
