PW appeared to be intelligent. He was cooperative. considered reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
15 Jul 50 - Conscripted into NKPA 848th Ind Regt, PYONGYANG (平壤). Received no training. PW and 4 other conscript truck drivers assigned as truck drivers, 1st Arty Bn. Helped unload newly arrived truck at freight station (see Soviet trucks).
8 Aug 50 - Departed P’YONGYANG by rail. Unit strength, 600, equipped with 24 x 57-mm M1943 AT Guns (1st Bn - 12, 2nd Bn - 12) and 60 x trucks loaded with supplies.
14 Aug 50 - Arrived at SEOUL via SARIWON (沙里院), KAESONG (開城).
18 Aug 50 - Left SEOUL by rail.
O/a 3 Sep 50 - Arrived YONGJU (榮州) via WONJU (原州), CHECH’ON (堤川), TANYANG (丹陽). Personnel, artillery, and CHECH’ON. Continued march by foot.
13 Sep 50 - Arrived at KUSAN-Dong via ANDONG (安東) UISONG (義城). Air interdiction continued by US aircraft.
18 Sep 50 - Unit withdrew from KUSAN-DONG toward the east. Heavy casualties result of US air interdiction. Units dispersed.
20 1400K Sep 50 - PW and 6 others of same unit captured in wooded area along road 4 km E of KUSAN-Dong by ROK Army unit.

Soviet Trucks:
AT P’YONGYANG main freight yard, 1-15 Jul 50, PW helped unload 200 brand new 6-wheeled trucks from railroad flat cars. Trucks unloaded during night. Trucks were 4 1/2 ton later model of YAG-4 Soviet trucks. Truck engine construction remained unchanged. Trucks were sent from USSP and routed by rail through ANDONG (安東), MANCHURIA, and SINUIJU (新義州). (Hearsay from PW’s company CO). 60 trucks were distributed to 848th Ind Regt En’s (20 to each battalion). Remaining 140 trucks were delivered to a transportation battalion in SEOUL.
