d. Communication:
Roads were very bad and transporting of troops and supplies was very slow. All bridges on route to TABU-DONG (多富洞) were destroyed. HAN River and NAKTONG River were crossed in flatboats. Other rivers were forded by trucks and tanks.

e. Knowledge of Other Units:
After crossing the NAKTONG River and arriving in NAKTONG-Ni Area, PW observed about 140 trucks loaded with gasoline, ammunition, food, kerosene, uniforms and small arms, travelling in convoy going toward TAEGU. Also observed many empty trucks going north, probably for more supplies. Date of observation of convoys, 22 Aug 50.
Convoy that was headed for TAEGU was spotted by aircraft and was entirely destroyed by B-29’s, B-26’s, P-51’s, and F-80 Jets. Direct hits were made on 3 trucks carrying gasoline. Supply convoys were from 15th Div.

f. Personalities:
Tank Bn CO - KIM, Yuk To; Col (大佐); Age 48
Supply Section - CHAE, Yong Dok; Sr Lt (大尉); Age 34.

g. Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of unit low because they did not know why they were fighting against the ROK and because of incessant air attacks.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION:
All gasoline and diesel oil supply of NKPA Reserve storage has been exhausted. There is no fuel to operate trucks and tanks. They are now using men between ages of 40 to 50 to carry supplies to front lines. However, most of the fuel supply dumps were destroyed by aircraft. PW believes that there is an ammunition supply dump in SANGJU Rail tunnel. (hearsay).
PW stated that in NK all men between 17 and 50 are forced to join the army. Not very many women were drafted. PW also states that if the UN Forces cross the 38° parallel to N. KOREA there will be no opposition. KIL, Il Song sent every available man to crush TAEGU and PUSAN, as he had promised the North Koreans that this mission would be accomplished by 15 Aug 50. Since he failed to live up to his promise to the N.Korea people, he again made another promise that he would capture TAEGU and PUSAN by 30 Aug 50, if he could draft more men to send to the NAKTONG and P’OHANG (浦項) Area.
