2. ASSESSMENT:
Appeared to be of average intelligence. Cooperative. Reliability-fair.
Length of service - 1 month.
Physical condition - Good physical condition.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
Inducted on 18 Aug 50 at CHIN NAM PO (鎭南浦) and attached to the 99th Inf Regt, 8th Bn, 1st Co, 2nd Plt.

4. MOVEMENT OF UNIT:
Left CHIN NAM PO on 26 Aug 50 and arrived at KUM CHON (金泉) approx 35 km NW of TAEGU on 18 Sep 50 by marching.
On 19 Sep 50 at KUM CHON, PW with 3 other men deserted, just prior to the departure of the 99th Regt for TAEGU. He believes the Regt to be in or near TAEGU.
Circumstance of capture: PW gave himself up near SUWON. He was in uniform when he surrendered.

5. CODE NUMBER:
8th Bn - PAEK TOO SAN (白頭山), (백두산)

6. UNIT ORGANIZATION AND STRENGTH:
99th Regt was composed of 8 battalions. There were 3 companies in each battalion. Strength of Regt was believed to be 5,500 when it left CHIN NAM PO on 26 Aug 50. At KUM CHON PW believes that about half of the regiment deserted. Troops in the Regt wore not armed. They were told that rifles and other equipment would be issued when the regiment reached its destination, “TAEGU.”

7. WEAPONS:
Subject observed about 3 artillery pieces, 5 AA pieces and 2 mortars in the 99th Regt area while at CHIN NAM PO.
Refer to sketch for location of 5 AA pieces.
All weapons were left behind in CHIN NAM PO when the Regt left for TAEGU. Regt Hq was situated in a 2-story brick building located on the west side of CHIN NAM PO.

8. MORALE:
Morale was extremely low. They were forcibly recruited and they did not like the way they were treated.
Food - Received 3 meals per day, 1 rice ball per meal.
