1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative and talkative. Information seems reliable.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
Inducted 14 Jul 50 at MUNCH'ON (文山) and attached to 563rd Regt at MUNCH'ON. Men were armed with MOSIN M 1891/30 calibre rifles (Russian made). 100 rounds of ammunition issued later at SEOUL.
The 563rd Regt had about 12 (75mm) mortars, 18 HMGs, 108 LMGs, and each squad leader carried an automatic rifle. This unit departed MUNCH'ON 12 Sep 50 and arrived SEOUL on 16 Sep 50. Mode of travel by train during night.
Unit Strength: There were 10 men in each squad, 4 squads in each platoon, 4 platoons in each company, 3 companies in each battalion and 3 battalions in the 563rd Regt.
Losses: 9th Company - 20 killed, 15 wounded near YONGDUNGP'O on 23 Sep 50. Observed about 3 (40mm) mortars destroyed at SEOUL City on 21 Sep 50.

4. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
Up to 31 Aug 50 food and ammo supplied by train from NORTH KOREA to SEOUL. Their supply line was cut off due to air raid at YONGDUNGP'O on 23 Sep 50.

5. MORALE:
The majority of his company had intentions of deserting when US Forces arrive. After supply line was cut rations were greatly reduced.

5. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Medical personnel wear red cross bands and are armed with rifles.
