2. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology: PW entered NK Army on 10 August 1949. Reason for entering NK Army was because he hated to work on farm. PW volunteered in the NK Army and knew only about his unit. He entered and took training in TANCHUN KOREA for one (1) year. After one (1) year, he entered leadership school and at end of three (3) months, graduated as a first lieutenant and was assigned to the 3rd Division, 9th Regiment, 2d Battalion, 1st Company as Executive Officer. This unit was an infantry unit. PW has no knowledge of the whereabouts of this unit at present. 4th Division was organized in HAM HUN, KOREA. Here PW stated for three (3) months then enroute to KEIJO (SEOUL) he was promoted to major. Reached SEOUL 10 August 1950. On 2 Sep 50 he was sent to KIMPO Airfield and became Air Force Engineer Battalion Executive Officer. His duty was to repair the airfield.

b. Unit Organization and Strength: Air Force Engineer Battalion was organized 2 September 1950.
(1) Original organization and strength: Five hundred (500) men composed of following: Four hundred (400) Engineers, Seventy (70) mess workers, Fifteen (15) Air Force Mechanics.
(2) Last known composition of unit: Ninety (90) NK enlisted men retreated toward SEOUL 18 Sep 50 at 1200 hours.

c. Equipment: 17 September 1950, these men received M1891 30 caliber rifle, one (1) per man. Brought to airfield by ox cart from SEOUL vicinity.

d. Duty: Repair airfield.

e. other Units: Two (2) Divisions were located in SEOUL approximately fifteen (15) days ago. He stated there were approximately ten thousand (10,000) men to a division. This was claimed to be an infantry unit.

3. REMARKS:
PW was a major but he worked on repairing KIMPO Airfield and he had no further information except that he heard on 17 Sep 50 that approximately two thousand (2,000) North Korean soldiers were retreating, passed the KIMPO Airfield toward SEOUL and on 18 Sep 50 (1200 hours), approximately five hundred (500) infantry North Korean troops retreated toward SEOUL.
