2. ASSESSMENT:
Further interrogation not necessary.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Inducted in the army at PYONGYANG (HEIJO) on 26 July 1950 and joined the 6th Bn. Bn was immediately transferred to CHOLWON where it stayed for 15 days before moving to SEOUL. At SEOUL PW found out that he belonged to 3rd Bn, 2nd Regt, 18th Div. The 3rd Bn left SEOUL on 15 Sept to defend INCHON. 1st and 2nd Bns left for INCHON on the 16th. PW believed that the rest of the 18th Div left for INCHON after the 3rd Bn. He did not know about the landing of American Troops until 0430 hrs, 17th September.

There was also an unidentified Company.
All other Bns in the 18th Div are similar to the 3rd Bn in troop strength and weapons.
18th Div Hq is located E of SEOUL City, on the foot of NANZAN (mountain). 3rd Bn was completely disorganized after heavy artillery shelling on 17 September. Approximately 200 men were killed and others retreated.
In the Southern Sector of KYONGSONG, defensive positions were dug in immediately on the north bank of the HAN River. Deep trenches are dug all along the river banks. Defensive positions were also prepared on NAMSAN Mountain.
4-5 large guns (caliber unknown) were emplaced on mountains in Southern Sector of INCHON DONG. Guns were located near former Hqs. Guns cannot be seen from air because of dense forest.
PW believed that after the 18th Div left KYONGSONG, other units replaced them in army barracks 2156 and 2155.
Many unidentified troops observed in the area of YONGDUNG PO-RI.
