1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
Subject was uncooperative. Information believed fairly reliable.

3. REMARKS:
Subject was forcibly drafted and entered in the NKA on 7 June 50. He was attached to 18th Div, 3rd Bn, 2nd Co, 2nd Plat. The 1st Regt HQ was located in the PYONG YANG city.
Subject received approx two months of basic training in PYONG YANG. The 18th Div left PYONG YANG on 15 Aug 50 and arrived at SEOUL on 20 Aug 50.
The 1st Regt left SEOUL on the night of 1 Sept 50 and arrived KIMCHON (金泉) on or about 18th Sept 50, left KIMCHON on 20 Sept 50 and arrived YONG DONG PO (永登浦) in the early morning of 21 Sept 50. Travel was by freight train.
Subject stated that 2nd Plat remained in YONG DONG PO to defend the city the rest of the platoon of the 1st Regt were deployed outside of YONG DONG PO. The 2nd Plat of the 1st Regt left the YONG DONG PO city on the night of 21st Sept 50 and met the 1st Marine Div on the outskirts of YONG DONG PO. The platoon was wiped out and subject voluntarily surrendered.
Subject observed about 12 LMGs, 2 HMGs in his company.
