FIELD REPORT (521 - MISD - 0014)　22 September 1950

1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
NAME: KIM, Hung Do (金興度)

2. ASSESSMENT:
Subject was cooperative but had limited information.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Subject was inducted on 3 Dec 48 at SINUIJU.
Received basic training and was assigned to the 4th Co, 5th Bn, 2nd Regt, 1st Infantry Division at SINUIJU. Discharged in Apr 50 due to misconduct.
Subject states that there were 19 Russian Company grade officers assigned to the 1st Infantry Division as training supervisors. He was recalled to active duty on 14 July 50 as a 2nd Lt. On 19 July 50, subject and 29 other 2nd Lts were transferred to DESU GEN and were assigned to the 18th Infantry Division. This division was transferred to SEOUL on 20 July 50. The 18th Div comprised of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Regts and each regiment comprised of 3 Bns. Regimental and division strength was unknown. However, the 6th Bn's strength was 350 men.
Each Company of the Division was equipped with 2 heavy, and 9 light machine guns in addition to rifles.
The 1st and 3rd Regt of the 18th Division were last seen in SEOUL on 10 Sep 50. The 2nd Regt was last seen at a point 4 km east of IN CHON (仁川) and believes that the Regt has been wiped out.
