ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 1301　26 September 1950

FIELD REPORT (521 - MISD - 0008)　22 September 1950

Information concerning the organization seems reliable, subject appears to be intelligent and gave the information freely. Information concerning S Korea seems to be false.

Unit activated at PYONG YANG, date unknown. At the time informant joined the regiment all the old personnel had been transferred out and new recruits were brought in.

The regiment was used for guard duty on food warehouses in PYONG YANG.

800 men and officers

Composed of four (4) Bns of 200 men each; 2 Co’s of 190 men and 5 officers per Bn.

Co composed of 4 plts of 25 to 30 men each.

Informant states that the only training received was rifle marksmanship.

Informant states that he left PYONG YANG on 31 Aug 50 for SEOUL to see what the situation was. He states that when he reached SEOUL he contacted a senior lieutenant in charge of an artillery unit and was told that "everything was all right." He was captured at NUNG ROK while on his way to rejoin his unit in PYONG YANG.
