3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
PW student at CHOSEN. Theological Seminary in SEOUL. Hid for ten days near SEOUL after beginning of hostilities. Made his way to UMSONG (陰城) where he was arrested because of his northern accent, accused of being a refugee from the communist regime. Freed after a week. Slowly made way south. At WAEGWAN moved back, spent about 20 days at INDONG (仁洞). NK Army lieutenant agreed to send him across line if he and 6 companions would go to TAEGU and engage in communist propaganda. PW was told he was sent by the 3rd Division. On 16 Sep, discovered two US soldiers in hiding. PW surrendered to them. Americans disguised themselves as refugees because of possible snipers and led group to CP. Sent from there to TAEGU.

Propaganda:
PW received no training in propaganda work. Only instruction was to inform the refugees from NKPA occupied areas to come back to their hones am farms to tell them that the communists are friends of the farmers and workers and to have no rear. PW reports morale still high among NKPA personnel who originally left N KOREA, but that those conscripted from S KOREA occupied areas desire to surrender.
Propaganda among NKPA personnel quite intense, not only with regard to KOREA which they claim is all but completely won, even TAEGU and PUSAN are practically in the bands of fifth columnists but also with regard to other countries. They had heard that all of GERMANY was "liberated" in a week, beginning at the same time as the Korean "liberation". KYUSHU (九州) and SHIKOKU (四國) in JAPAN have been taken over by local communists, etc.
PW reports infantry soldiers complain of poor rations and of two and thee days at the front without food but that occupation units and other rear area units are well fed through foraging upon surrounding country.
