2nd Div (code 235), was composed of 4th, 6th and 17th (code 242), Arty Regt, Medical Bn, Signal Co, and an Engineer Bn.
17th Regt was composed of 3 rifle bns, artillery Co, a medical Co, Engineer Plt and a Guard Plt.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 21 Nov 49 at NANAN. Joined 17th Regt, Medical Co, located in NANAM. Unit moved to HAMHUNG during Dec 49.
PW and 11 others surrendered to ROK Unit with the US 38th Inf Regt on 17 Sep 50, 8 km W of CHANGNYONG.

REPLACEMENTS:
Majority of the troops now with the 6th Div were South Koreans conscripted by North Korean Army. These troops joined the unit during Aug - Sep as replacements.

FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:
Food was obtained at Regtal rear. Food was especially scarce after crossing NAKTONG River.

ARMOR & ARTILLERY:
2 x T-34/85 tanks observed on East bank of NAKDONG River West of CHANGNYONG o/a 15 Sep 50.
4 x 76mm field guns observed on East bank of NAKDONG River west of CHANGNYONG o/a 15 Sep 50.

MEDICAL INFO:
An average of 80 wounded were treated every day by 17th Regt, Medical Co.
All persons treated at Regt’l Medical Co were sent to the Div Field Hospital.
O/a 28 Aug 50, all men of the 2nd Div were given cholera innoculation at HYOPCHON. Information heard that this was done because of cholera epidemic on East bank of NAKTONG River centered around TAEGU.
