ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative, but due to limited military service and poor memory, information seems unreliable.

PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
PW was conscripted with 3000 others into the North Korean Army, 6 Aug 50, at HOENGSONG. Received no military training.
Departed HOENGSONG 6 Aug 50. Arrived PAL KONG Mt 11 Sep 50.
Surrendered to US “E” Co, 8th Cav Regiment.
Only one-third of these troops were armed with M-1891/30 rifles, others had no weapons.
The treatment of these South Koreans was bad. When North Koreans received rice, they (South Koreans) received wheat.

HEARSAY: PW heard that three US soldiers were captured in PALKONG Mountain, in Sep 50.
