2. ASSESSMENT:
PW did not have the slightest idea what was going on about him. PW appeared to be of average intelligence, but not very observant. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology: 15 Aug 50 - PW was drafted into the NKPA with about 200 other S. Koreans in the ULCHIN (蔚珍) Area.
16 Aug 50 - Departed ULCHIN, arrived at SAMSIPNI (三十里). Then marched to MIRO, a NKPA Replacement Training Camp, located N of SAMSIPNI.
18 Aug 50 - Commenced 3 days basic training at MIRO.
21 Aug 50 - Departed MIRO, marched to WONJU (原州).
30 Aug 50 - PW received uniform at WONJU.
31 Aug 50 - Departed WONJU, marched with about 700 S Korean Replacements.
1 Sep 50 - Moved through CHECH’ON (堤川).
2 Sep 50 - Moved through TANYANG (丹陽).
O/a 3 Sep 50 - Passed through YONGJU (榮州).
O/a 4 Sep 50 - Arrived at ANDONG (安東).
14 Sep 50 - Arrived at the foot of a mountain 4 km N of YONGCH'ON (永川) via UISONG (義城). O/a 11 Sep 50, at UISONG the group of 700 replacements was divided into 2 groups. PW's group of 200 was sent to the area N of YONGCH'ON as replacements for the 15th Div.
The other 500 replacement were (hearsay) to be sent to the area N of TAEGU.
15 Sep 50 - At the foot of the mountain, 58 of the 200 were armed with rifles and ordered to go up the mountain. Just prior to the movement up the mountain, the 58 replacements were strafed by 4 x F-80's, but there were no casualties. Immediately after, they were shelled and 5 of the 58 were wounded. After the shelling ceased the 55 remaining troops moved up the mountain.
16 Sep 50 - Partially up the mountain the 55 replacements were assigned to various squads. PW and 3 other replacements were oriented by the squad leader. At the summit of the mountain they were ordered to occupy fox holes and not to move until ordered otherwise.
17 Sep 50 - There was artillery and MG fire. PW just cringed in his fox hole until he heard ROK troops shout at them to surrender. He readily threw up his hands.
