2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative but unable to supply detailed information due to the fact that his unit was on the move at night most of the time. He did not appear to be intelligent. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
1 Apr 50, PW volunteered into the NKPA (15th Div, Ind Engr Bn, 1st Co) at HOERYONG (會寧). Received mine-laying and recovering training for a period of 12 months.
28 Jun 50, the 15th Div departed HOERYONG.
11 Sep 50 - Arrived at YONGCH’ON (永川). PW captured hiding near the town of YONGCH'ON. The 15th Div had scattered and its disposition could not be given. PW stated that he never participated in any action.

Original Organization and Strength:
The 15th Div composed of 7th, 8th, and 9th Inf Regts. In addition to the above regiments, there were Ind Engr Bn, 45-mm AT Bn, Ind Signal Bn, and Reconnaissance Bn directly attached to the 15th Div. The original strength of the 15th Div was estimated to be 9,000.
The Ind Engr Bn consisted of 1st Co, 2nd Co, River Crossing Co, and Recon Co. The River Crossing Co composed of 2 platoons and the Recon Co of 3 platoons. In addition to above companies, one Recon Plt (20 men) and Mechanized Plt (20 men) were directly attached to the Ind Engr Bn.

Equipment:
The Ind Engr Bn had fallowing equipment:
Command Plt - 2 SMG's and 18 rifles.
Mechanized Plt - 2 SMG's and 18 rifles.
River Crossing Co - 4 SMG's and 2 rifles.
Recon Co - 60 rifles.
1st and 2nd Co - 120 rifles. Each company was also equipped with three (3) to four (4) mine detectors, three (3) electric detonator machines, three (3) boxes of dynamite and 30 meters of fuze. The dynamite boxes measured 50 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm. Dynamite has never been used.

Intentions:
Ultimate destination of the 15th Div was PUSAN. (Hearsay from officers.)

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of his unit was very low due to the death of the Div commander and Engr Bn commander at YONGCH'ON. Lack of food lowers the morale considerably.
