ASSESSMENT:
While the 8th Company was resting on Hill 188 on 13 Sep 50, they were suddenly shelled by the 5th Cav artillery. Seeing the men scattering in all directions, PW descended the hill and gave himself up to the 5th Cav, 1st Bn.
PW was cooperative. Military information on parent unit limited, because he was apparently unobservant.

28 Jul 50, went into the Volunteer Group at SEOUL. Total: 160 men, 40 women.
23 Aug 50, Volunteer Group automatically placed into 3rd Div at a hill 8 Km East of SONJU. PW went into the 7th Regt.
Disposition of others: unknown. 280 men departed from the hill located 8 Km East of SONJU 2 Sep, marched, crossed NAKTONG River, arrived Hill 188, 12 Sep 50. PW was placed into the 8th Regt.
13 Sep 50, PW was captured by 5th Cav, 1st Bn.

ARMOR:
20 medium tanks were seen East of NAKTONG River bank, at a point 4 Km South of WAEGWAN on 2 Sep 50. No other info.

TRUCKS:
Twenty (20) GAZ-63 trucks were observed by PW on the same day and time as above. No other info.

ARTILLERY:
Three (3) or four (4) 76mm field guns were observed by PW on 2 Sep 50. They were located 4 Km South of WAEGWAN on the East bank of NAKTONG River.

ENEMY INTENTIONS:
Mission of PW’s unit was to take TAEGU. No other info.

MORALE:
The morale of soldiers in PW’s Company was low because most of them were South Koreans who didn't want to fight.

CAPTURED EQUIPMENT:
PW stated that captured equipment was used against UN Forces, because they lack weapons & ammo.

SOUTH KOREAN SENTIMENTS:
PW stated that poor people & farmers welcome the North Koreans troops, because they believe they will receive equal rations and land.
